Researchers from the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMCP, CSIC-UPV) Vicente Pallás Beret and Manuel Rodríguez-Concepción received the Margarita Salas Medals for excellence in research supervision on Monday, 7 September, during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid.
The event included the presentation of the 4th CSIC Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Awards, the 4th edition of the Margarita Salas Medals and the 3rd edition of the María Moliner Awards.
The Margarita Salas Medals recognise and highlight excellence in the supervision and training of young researchers. In this edition, the distinction was awarded to six members of CSIC research staff.
The fact that two of the six awardees are researchers from the IBMCP represents a particularly significant recognition for the institute and reflects the importance placed on the training, mentoring and development of new generations of scientists as an essential part of its research activity.
The awards received by Vicente Pallás and Manuel Rodríguez-Concepción also add to the distinction previously received by Miguel Ángel Blázquez in the preceding edition. As a result, three IBMCP researchers have now received a Margarita Salas Medal over the last two editions.
The IBMCP warmly congratulates Vicente and Manuel on this recognition of scientific careers that have also been closely linked to the training, supervision and professional development of new generations of researchers.
