The international NGTs for Crops 2027 congress has extended its abstract submission deadline to 15 October 2026. The event will take place from 25 to 28 January 2027 at the Palacio de Congresos de Valencia, bringing together specialists in new genomic techniques (NGTs), genome editing and crop improvement.
Championed at the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMCP, CSIC-UPV) by researcher Antonio “Toni” Granell, who convenes the congress alongside Dirk Inzé, the meeting aims to provide an international forum for exchange between researchers, biotechnology companies and plant breeders.
The programme will feature talks by international experts, oral presentations, posters and discussions. Topics will range from advances in technologies such as CRISPR and cisgenesis to their applications in improving crop yield, quality and resilience, alongside regulatory and intellectual property issues. A dedicated industry session and exhibition area will give companies space to present their latest developments.
**How to submit an abstract**
Contributions may be proposed as either an oral or a poster presentation. Abstracts must be written in English, be no longer than 300 words and be submitted exclusively through the congress’s official online form. Registration is also open.
IBMCP encourages its research groups and everyone working with new genomic techniques to take part and share their results in Valencia.
