We are deeply proud to announce that Rosa Porcel, researcher at the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMCP, CSIC–UPV) and renowned science communicator, has been awarded the Honorary Award for Best Science Communication Career in Biotechnology at the 2025 AseBio Communication and Outreach Awards.
This award, granted by the Spanish Bioindustry Association (AseBio), is one of the most prestigious recognitions for science communication in Spain, as it is supported by the entire biotechnology ecosystem: companies, research centers, universities, hospitals, and public institutions. The honorary award highlights a sustained career marked by excellence, rigor, and commitment to communicating biotechnology.
Rosa Porcel has built powerful bridges between science and society, especially in a field such as biotechnology, which has a major impact on health, food, and sustainability. Through her blog, her presence in media and social networks, and her involvement in educational and outreach projects, she has made complex scientific concepts accessible with both clarity and sensitivity.
At IBMCP, we wholeheartedly congratulate Rosa on this well-deserved recognition. Her work not only honors our institution, but also serves as a model of how science can—and should—engage in dialogue with society.
