Two young scientists trained at IBMCP receive the 2025 Sabater Award from the Spanish Society of Plant Biology
La Sociedad Española de Biología de Plantas (SEBP) has, for the first time, jointly awarded its prestigious Sabater Prize to two young researchers: Jorge Hernández-García and Noel Blanco-Touriñán, both of whom were trained at the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMCP) (IBMCP, CSIC-UPV).
This award recognizes scientific excellence during the doctoral stage and, in this edition, highlights the high level of training and strong commitment to young talent that defines the IBMCP. Noel will soon be joining the Institute under a Ramón y Cajal contract, while Jorge has recently begun a new research phase at the Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics (CBGP, UPM-INIA/CSIC).
In previous editions, Javier Gallego, another young researcher trained at IBMCP, was also honored with this award—further consolidating our track record in training leading scientists in Plant Biotechnology.
