About the department
This research department is comprised of researchers who use a multidisciplinary approach to identify and generate knowledge about genes or gene regions that control agronomically important traits in cultivated species.
Thanks to this research, we can produce new biological material that can be used in plant breeding to generate varieties with superior agronomic characteristics, including improved nutritional/nutraceutical quality or improved adaptation to the environment, which can increase plant efficiency and yield.
