Undergraduate students from the Biotechnology degree at the ETSEAMN visited the Murcia Research Center in San Javier this week as part of the #SinergiasETSEAMN initiative, which aims to strengthen the connection between university training and applied research in the field of agricultural biotechnology.

The visit was promoted by the Chair of Biotechnology of the Universitat Politècnica de València, with the support of Sakata Ibérica, and coordinated by Professor José Miguel Mulet.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the research lines developed at the center, as well as the current and future challenges facing agriculture, plant biotechnology, and agricultural innovation, highlighting the key role of research in building a more sustainable and efficient agri-food system.

Initiatives such as this one reinforce students’ practical training and encourage dialogue between academia and industry, contributing to a more realistic and up-to-date understanding of career opportunities in biotechnology.

We would like to thank the center’s team for the warm welcome, the insightful talk, and for sharing their vision of the future of agriculture.
