Seminar by Dr. Alicia Tamarit

To mark the International Day of LGBTQIA+ People in STEM (November 18), we welcomed Dr. Alicia Tamarit from the University of Valencia. Alicia is a teacher, researcher, PRISMA activist, and psychologist expert in the stigma experienced by minoritized groups within the LGBTQIA+ community. Through her seminar “Beyond the Closet: Queer Perspectives in Academia, Science, and Technology,” we learned about the different letters within the collective, the spectrums of gender and sexuality, and their intersection with the scientific field.
