Sowing Science for 11F

Within the framework of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (11F), the Equality Committee organized an outreach day featuring 35 5th-grade students from CEIP Les Sitges in Burjassot. They were welcomed to our center with the goal of bringing scientific research closer to students and highlighting the work of women researchers.
The day began with an institutional welcome by Belén Picó, Vice-Rector for Research at the UPV, followed by an outreach talk by PhD student Carmen Grech. Then, researchers Cristina Ferrándiz and Carmen Hernández participated in an interview for the school’s podcast, sharing their experiences and answering students’ questions. Finally, with the involvement of researchers, specialized technicians, and students from the center, the visiting students took part in three practical workshops and toured various laboratories and scientific services. This activity reinforced the IBMCP’s commitment to fostering scientific vocations from an early age.
