Biography

Mª Dolores Gómez is currently a Tenured Scientist at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Since 2009, she has been a member of the Hormonal Signaling in Fruit and Seed Development group, where she conducts research focused on ovule and seed development in Arabidopsis thaliana and Camelina sativa. Her contributions have demonstrated that DELLA proteins positively regulate ovule number, shape, and size, thereby determining seed morphology. Research outcomes have been disseminated through international journals, conferences, and science outreach activities. She has participated continuously in competitive R&D projects, assuming responsibilities as Principal Investigator and Researcher in studies on hormonal regulation, stress responses, and plant improvement. In parallel, she carries out an extensive training activity through the co-supervision of doctoral theses, supervision of master’s and undergraduate projects, and mentoring of students, fostering the integration of early-career researchers into the R+D system. Additionally, between 2008 and 2025, she has maintained sustained involvement in science outreach and postgraduate and undergraduate teaching at several universities. She also serves as a representative of the IBMCP Equality Committee, contributing to the centre’s equality policies.
