Miguel Ángel Blázquez, a researcher at the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMCP, UPV-CSIC), has been elected as a new member of EMBO, the European Molecular Biology Organization, one of the most prestigious international scientific communities in the field of life sciences.
Election as an EMBO Member recognises scientific excellence and the outstanding contributions of researchers with leading careers in their respective fields. New members become part of an international network of specialists who contribute to the advancement of molecular biology and the life sciences in Europe and worldwide.
Blázquez is a CSIC Research Professor at the IBMCP and is part of the Hormonal Signalling and Plant Plasticity group, focused on studying the molecular mechanisms that allow plants to adapt their development to environmental conditions. His research addresses how environmental and endogenous signals —such as light, temperature, plant age or nutritional status— are integrated to modulate plant growth and development.
