Biologist by the Universidad de Valencia in 1990

Between 1991 and 1995, I did my PhD at the IBMCP in Valencia with Juan Carbonell, working in the physiology and molecular biology of polyamines in during fruit development and senescence in pea.

I moved to the Plant Research Lab at the Michigan State University in 1996 to join Pamela Green´s lab for a postdoc, where I spent almost 5 years working in the cellular mechanism of mRNA decay and later in the development of the first microarray platform in plants (Arabidopsis).

I moved back to the IBMCP in 2001 and with a Ramon y Cajal contract, where I continued working in fruit development and specialized in the role of gibberellins in Arabidopsis.

In 2005 I got a permanent position as Científico Titular at the IBMCP, and started my own group. Since then, we have been interested in different aspects of the hormonal regulation of fruit set and development, and more recently in the role of gibberellins in ovule and seed development.
