Biografía

Tras licenciarme en Biología, obtuve mi doctorado (enero de 1993, Universitat de València) trabajando en cómo las plantas regulan su crecimiento en respuesta a las condiciones de luz ambiental. Después de tres postdocs consecutivos trabajando en factores de transcripción de plantas (John Innes Center, Norwich, Reino Unido – Grupo de Cathie Martin; 1993 – 1995), sobre señalización de fitocromos en la planta modelo Arabidopsis thaliana (Plant Gene Expression Center, UC-Berkeley, EE. UU. – grupo de Peter Quail; 1996 – 2000) y en la tuberización de patata regulada por fotoperíodo (Instituto de Biología Molecular de Barcelona, CSIC, Barcelona, España – Laboratorio de Salomé Prat; 2000 – 2001), obtuve un puesto permanente como Profesor de Investigación ICREA en noviembre de 2001 y establecí mi propio grupo de investigación en el CRAG (Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics, CSIC-IRTA-UAB-UB, Barcelona, España). En marzo de 2020, me mudé a un nuevo puesto en el IBMPC (Instituto de Biología Molecular y Celular de Plantas, CSIC-UPV), en València, España. Mi grupo está interesado en comprender cómo las plantas ven y responden a la proximidad de otras plantas.
